Privacy Policy

SecAug (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is an activities and friends platform built exclusively for the Jain community. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using SecAug you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account & profile: name, phone number, email, gender, age, profession, community details you choose to share, bio, and profile photos.
• Verification: a live “selfie” photo used only to confirm you are a real person. This is reviewed to approve your account and is not shared publicly.
• Activities & messages: the plans you post or join, requests you send, and messages you exchange in confirmed chats.

Information collected automatically

• Precise location: with your permission, we collect your device’s precise (GPS) location for the sole purpose of finding activities and members near you and calculating distance. It is used only for this feature. Your precise location is never shown to other members — they only ever see your general area/locality, never your exact coordinates or address. You can turn location off at any time in your device settings.
• Device & usage data: basic technical information needed to keep the app running securely, and a device token for push notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create, verify and secure your account.
• To let you post activities, request to join, and coordinate meetups.
• To show you relevant activities and members near your area.
• To send you notifications about requests, confirmations and updates.
• To process payments for optional paid features (see our Refund Policy).
• To keep the community safe and prevent misuse or fake accounts.

3. Payments

Optional paid features — extra activity posts (₹19 each), extra join-request slots (₹19 for 10 more), and the SecAug X membership (₹499/month) — are processed securely through Google Play Billing. Your payment method is handled entirely by Google Play; we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. We only receive confirmation from Google that a purchase succeeded so we can unlock the feature.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only:

• With other members — the profile details you choose to display (name, photos, area, interests) are visible to other verified members, as that is the purpose of the app.
• With service providers — such as our hosting/backend (Supabase), notification (Firebase) and payment partners, strictly to operate the app.
• When required by law — to comply with a legal obligation or protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app or by emailing support.secaug@gmail.com. On deletion, we remove your profile and personal data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or accounting requirements.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information and restrict access to it.

7. Children

SecAug is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8. Your Rights

You can access, correct or delete your personal information, and withdraw permissions such as location or notifications at any time through your device settings or by contacting us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified within the app or on this page, with a revised “last updated” date.
